Organic Wine

Organic Wine
Organic viticulture excludes the use of synthetic fertilisers, fungicides, herbicides and pesticides in the vineyard and supports the health of vines through the promotion of the health of the soil. Makers of organic wine use organically-grown grapes, and to be certified organic, they must exclude certain conventional wine-making practices and cap the amount of sulphur dioxide used. Not all wines designated organic are certified, but where the producer follows organic practices they will work without chemicals in the vineyard other than copper and sulphur and use organically-grown grapes.
